Default New to Lexus- LED light help

hi I just got my first Lexus it is a'14 is250 base model RWD. I am wanting to swap the flood and brake lights with led lights to match the stock headlights.

Can i I do this by just replacing just the bulbs (I hope I can) or do I need to buy new housings and converter cables? I don't want to overheat my electric cables with bulbs that are too strong.

I also wouldnt mind changing the interior lights too.

let me know what you guys have done

thanks

Hmm pretty sure replacing your brake light is illegal.

But if you mean replacing your reverse light and all your dome lights to LED, yes it's just plug and play. There is a YouTube video that someone made years ago that is very informative.

Don't cheap out like me at first and get the cheap LEDs. They last about six months and started to lose its light output, especially with the puddle lights as it takes more time to reach. For dome lights and interior, it's pretty much prop off the covers and you're set.

yes I meant reverse lights.

Thats good to hear i was getting confused mainly about the fog lamps since most people were discussing how to add them to an F sport.

Is the YouTube video still out there?

Any brand or kit recomendations?

No......

fog lamps you'll still need to play with the wires lol. American fsport doesn't come with fogs so you'll have to pay to play for those, about $150ish.

You can check, some Fsport cars may still be prewired for foglights from factory supposedly as some had found out. Not everyone has it though
The plugs are taped up but there already. Only thing you will need is to get a steering column light switch with fog switch on it from the non-fsport IS or off a GS

If no wires exist then buy a fog light relay harness if fog light kit do not come with it.
then route this harness and mount switch to dashboard like any other fog light installation on other cars.

Many choices out there for LED replacement bulb, do a Google search. You might also search CL as there are most likely CL vendors that might offer a discount. This thread offers some good (but dated) info on the fog lights: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...bulb-size.html Just make sure the bulbs you choose are direct replacement so they are plug and play (h16 type 2), and they meet specs (19 W) as you don't want them running hot in the housing. I choose to color match to the DRLs.

Instructions on replacing the fogs can be found in the manual, here's the online version for MY 14, page 434 and 435:

Page 441 for the reverse lights. Welcome and good luck.
thank you this helps a lot. I'll need to see what color matches the DRL lights

what brand did you go with?

I bought a complete LED interior kit from Precision LED and am more than happy. Even came with a couple fancy tools to make removal of interior pieces and install super easy.

Did you do the base kit? Or the premier lights?

The basic kit comes with 4 map lights and two dome lights. I added all the extra lights to swap out every light.

The premium kit comes with the 5730 leds, but the kit contents is the same as the basic in terms of the number of bulbs...4 map and 2 dome.
The basic kit is the older 5050 leds, once again, 4 map and 2 dome.
The 5730 are brighter as the led number actually refers to the size of the actual chip.
