Default Rear Swaybar links rubbing on Airbags

Is this a common issue with everyone running Air?

Was warned that I would have to remove my rear sway bar if I wanted to run air (Sort of against that because I daily my vehicle)

What have you guys done to avoid the links from rubbing? After market sways? I know specOne modified his rear links a bit to give him a bit more clearance. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...ml#post9359907

Thanks.

I did the same as SpecOne and took the washers off the endlink - but I feel like it's still rubbing a tad.
However, I'm on the same Struts and Bags as SpecOne (Airrex w/ triple bellows).

I was looking for some aftermarket endlinks - however I don't believe I saw any that would be more shallow or less thick on the ends.
I'm stumped like you :/

Hmm go to know.

Was thinking of ordering some end link ends from Figs and putting a set together. Gotta wait for the set up to come in and get installed before I tackle this.

Not sure why you are rubbing.
I've had no problems of it rubbing after i took one of the washers off. no more near close touching anymore.
i do see some rubbing of the backs on the lower spring pocket arm when air'd out due to diameter of the bags but i dont think its anything really serious like a endlink rub which i've already heard from almost everyone on air that rubbed through a bag and popped.

For others curious what we are talking about, here is link to my build thread that i photo document what i did to remove the washer

I'm guessing this is probably the only way to get it not to run right now unless someone comes up with custom endlinks

I'm still running my sway bars and on airrex air triple bellow bags. Its as simple as removing a washer off

i would never leave a sway bar disconnected. The sway bar is there from factory for a reason. Those that leave it disconnected are crazy for driving their cars like that.

If it's not necessary then Toyota would've left it off like they so on some model cars.

Been running UAS bags for the past 2 months.

Finally got under the car to change out the rear sway bar link that I mangled when I tried to remove it the first time (When I had BC Coils) and saw that my end link was rubbing on the bag pretty badly.

Instead of removing the washer on the new end link that SpecOne mentioned I simply flipped it and bolted the side with the washer into the control arm.

Right now im debating my options.

1. Remove Sway Bar Links (Not fond of this at all
2. Running a different bag set up in the rear
3. Make my own sway bar links

Looking for input from anyone running bags.

@rL-gT got a picture of what you did to share?
Picture of how bad the rub was on the bag?

he basically did what Airrunner does with their installs on our cars. Add an extra washer and flipped the end links.

It basically chewed away at a layer of the bag. I think I'll go back in next week and rotate the bags 180 degrees.

We need to find a solution for this. It's absolutely silly that we have to run with no sway bar.

Ill see if I can get a pic for you guys.

Okay. Was able to grab some pics while the car was aired up.

Not the best but you can see the damage to the bag

I wonder if that bag is compromised now?
Maybe take the link down to a parts supplier and see what they have on hand in stock.
You might be able to match it to one that is the same length but has a smaller head on the end.
