Default IS series 1,2,3 explanation?

So I've been seeing reference on the forum of Series 1,2 and 3 cars. I realize this has to do with options, so I think.

I tried to search for info, but to no avail.

Can someone list the option differences between each series, or post a link that does?

Thanks, just purchased a 2015 IS350 F sport. Has Nav package, BSM, AWD, No Mark Levinson

Here's a link from Lexus Canada. It shows the brochure of the IS. Go to page 25 and you should see the difference.

Does Lexus USA even use the Series designations? I thought that was a Lexus Canada only thing.

You are correct. Canada only. These series designations don't apply to the US models.

Not useless at all. Now when someone else has the question, as long as they do a search, they'll find the answer.

In 2014, could you get a IS350 AWD F sport with no sunroof, nav or backup camera in the US?

I notice US cars have all these options and Canadian cars are just packages.

No, sunroof has always been standard on US 3IS models.

Interesting between the markets. My CDM F Sport is a Series 1 and it has no sunroof or anything. It just has has the F Sport specific features and nothing else. IIRC, the price of the package was the same as the premium package ontop of the base model. I guess it's sort of a lightweight/stripper, I've only seen one other around, in person on the street or fs online. I wonder how much weight the sunroof saves.....

Don't waste your money. The car is surprisingly easy to manoeuvre. Spend your money elsewhere, like new suspension (or at least springs to fix your wheel gap) and new tires and refinish those wheels....
