Default Loud Idle After Intake Install

Recently picked up a 2014 IS350 F-Sport and didn't notice anything unusual when the engine was idleing. I installed an HPS Shortram Post MAF Intake Pipe along with an Afe Dry Panel Filter. It now sounds like the engine is idleing a lot louder. I disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for 10 min, let it idle for 5 min and then have taken it out for a spirited drive but it continues to be louder during idle.

Before I replace everything back to stock as a test I wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts as to why this may be happening.

Thx!

the intake will make engine noise more prevalent. this is normal. resetting the car's ecu will not make it quieter. you got rid of the oem arm that includes a sound baffle and the air box that has an enclosed air filter. these will make your car louder.

Yes. This is normal for short ram intakes.
Actually, majority of people get short ram intake for the sound. It has very little to do with HP gain or better MPG.

Thx for the info. Assumed it would be louder WOT but didn't expect to hear any difference at idle.

Below is a vid of the engine sound. Assume the ticking sound is the Direct Injection.

Sounds like my car on idle. It has the AEM intake. On WOT there is a loud drone the intake makes.
