Default Some TLC to my car

So my buddy owns a local tint and detail shop (Gotham Auto) and he allows me to go and come as I please and use his products for my car steal his shirts pens etc !

So this weekend I Clay, Buffed and put 2 coats of Ceramic pro on the paint with 2 coats of Gtechniq Exo to make it super slick and hydrophobic, Aquapel on the windsheild and Cermaic pro wheel on the wheels. Really happy with the outcome.

Brakes I used the Blue G2 paint system which I really like. As you can see my friend has a portable lift so it made it super easy to have all the wheel off at once to paint them without messing around with jack stands.
Take the wheels off
Clean the calipers
Tape off
I applied 3 coats of paint
Cured them with a heat gun for 15-20 min at a time
put the stickers on
applied 3 coats of High temp clear to make it even more glossy and hold the stickers better.

I also bought cheap color match spoiler for trunk and roof and I like them very simple and clean $100 for poth painted on ebay cant beat it.

This is my 2014 F-sport IS350 awd in CT !

Looks nice. How long did it take you to Clay and polish the car?

about 3 hours or so. Wash and clay is super fast. But then you have to keep drying the car until it's completely dry in order to polish. So that's a long time and a paint. A compressor with a nozzle is you best friend

I know everyone is asking a ton of questions. But....

How long did it take to paint the calipers? & how did you prep it?

Hmm.. looks like something I can DIY in a day. Did you have to wait before driving? Or was 9hrs enough?

How did you like the G2 paint? I am going to paint my calipers blue also and was looking at getting the G2 blue to do it with.

The coating dries on the car super fast that's why you can only do a panel at a time. But it doesn't cure. When I was done I drove it right home about 4 miles away and let it sit overnight to let it finish curing.

I love the G2 paint. No issues at much better than spray in my opinion.

Brakes looking good. I will be using the G2 system on my IS350 this spring. Going to go with white calipers on the front not sure I will do anything with the rear. I also have black f-sport decals to put on the caliper. Yours look great gets me excited for mine.

How many kits of the G2 did you buy? Did just 1 cover all the coats for the calipers or did you buy multiple?

Only need one can, I did three coats of paint on front and back which I felt was more than enough. Sometimes too much is just as bad as not enough. First coat went on rough and can still see the caliper in spots. 2nd coat provided nice coverage. The third coat I did thick and went on nice and smooth. I still had 1/2 can left over when I was done you have to throw it out because of the activator in it. Do yourself a favor buy a $5 paint brush set to paint with. Much better than the one that they provide.
