I've only had issues with cats. Especially when it's cold outside and the hood is warm. I had a custom paint job ruined by a neighbor's cat years ago. Just get rid of them unless you want to pay for a paint job.

if it's cats, get a large microfiber towel:
Amazon Amazon

sprinkle it with cayenne pepper powder, not a lot, but a good amount.
Amazon Amazon

place it on your hood or roof (where ever the cat lays).

cat won't come back.

the pepper won't hurt the animal, but it sticks to their fur and paws and they have to clean it off. It's a humane way to keep them away..

I had an ongoing issue with 3 neighborhood cats that would sleep on my convertible top, my Vet actually told me to do this, and it worked, been 3 years and the little critters haven't jumped on any of my cars, they now sleep on my porch chairs.

ive had many problems with cats as well, and what always worked for me is i put some crumpled up aluminum foil on my windshield. For some reason the cats in my neighborhood are scared of that and they haven't come back

now you are suggesting not owning any cats for oneself, but your earlier post referred to difficulties you had with a neighbor's cat, so yes, your comment sounded rather sinister. i don't own any cats, but if i witnessed you intentionally harming a neighbor's cat, you and i would have a big problem. sorry if i misinterpreted your comment to "get rid of them"
