Default Rims stolen (I think) not mine.. pics

Live in Bergen county NJ. Came out of my apartment garage Wednesday morning and saw this car on 2 cinder blocks. Saw it the night before and had stock Q60S rims nothing special so I can only guess they were stolen. Sucks the car was tipped over in the front. Crazy thing is I live on a Main Street that's well lit. I would compare the F sport rims to these so I can only imagine if my car was out there.

Keep your eyes open 😵

Don't these cars usually come with wheel locks?
How easily can wheel locks be broken into?

Wheel locks only make the owner feel good. Waste of money as they can be taken off pretty quick. Real security is effective in layers.

Ouch...
It's because crap like this happens that I bought these:
http://rimlox.com/

Wheels being stolen don't bother me as much as the mess left behind.
Teeter-totter on those cinder blocks would cause me more pain and grief in repair work

The peace of mind is worth every penny!

There are a couple of ways to bypass them. YouTube search will show a few. Interested in how Rimlox work

I'm a member of the Q50 forum (I was gonna get a Q50 before I decided on the IS) and I remember hearing about several owners getting their wheels/tires jacked in somewhere in NJ and/or NY quite a while back.

It seemed like the Q50 was a target for a while.

I can't imagine the feeling of seeing that happen to your car.

Correct.. Easiest way to get them off is to buy 4 12 point sockets that is just a wee bit too small to slide onto the locknut, and then hammer it on.

Don't jerk the breaker bar, just apply steady pressure that increases gradually and they'll come off.. Had to do this when a used car I bought didn't have the key to remove the wheel locks.

I've also seen a mechanic have another tool that would grip any wheel lock to be able to take it off. Those rimlox are interesting and definitely a pretty solid investment if you have super expensive rims.

This would definitely suck suck if it happened to you car. But that's why we pay ridiculous amounts of money to insurance even though we never want to use it. Lol

I had a set of 3 piece 24s on my truck that I drove daily for over five years with no issue, but I didn't live in crappy towns in Illinois or New Jersey.

I wouldn't put expensive wheels on my car/truck if i had to park in the street overnight. If you have expensive wheels on a daily driver just make sure they are insured. If a thief wants your car or anything on/in it they will get it.

I bought a used Corvette a few years ago and the owner had lost the wheel lock key or whatever you would call it. I drove the car into the local Goodyear store. In about five minutes they removed all of them and charged me $5 a wheel. They said it happens all the time, no big deal.
