Default Lexus apparently ended my lease by accident

Hi guys,

This is strange... so, about 2 weeks ago, i received an email from Lexus Financial stating my payment that was set to go out in the next week or so had been cancelled. I thought it had something to do with my bank, but then a week later, i received a check from Lexus/Toyota for the MSD (multiple security deposits) that i had put down on the car. So i went online to check my Lexus Financial Account, and it said my account was inactive. This is very strange as i have had the car for only 9 months.

I haven't had a chance to call Lexus Financial yet due to the busy holiday schedule.

Any input?

probably an IT problem. They will likely spot it in audit near the end of the year. I'd call them and ask for an explanation. If they confirm its over. GET IT IN WRITING.

I was almost going to say the same thing but IMO, you can rest assured they will eventually find out and come collecting.

Therefore, it's better you bring it to their attention fast enough to keep you out of a financial bind and fast enough to make your next payment on time. Do the responsible thing.

I can't believe this happened to you. What a royal screw up.

BTW, how many months are actually typed onto your lease agreement? Was the error on your agreement from the dealer by any chance?

Also, be sure you document all transactions and all conversations on this issue between you and Lexus. You may be glad you did in the off-chance that they repo the car and you are left with no recourse but to sue them for their egregious error.

Sounds like the yearly maintance screw up that happens to a couple of accounts every year. If you call they will open a ticket in there **** system to escalate it to the IT department. Make sure when you call to have the original contract in front of you to confirm the lease length, monthly payment, due date and payoff. I had to deal with the research part of this when I was working for them a couple of years back. Should be resolved in a week. Just make sure to call and Do not deposit those checks you received.

Default Update

So i finally spoke with Lexus Financial and i was told that when i returned my dad's Lexus few weeks ago, they closed my Lexus account instead of his. They said it will take a few weeks process. I hope they don't re-run my credit in order to fix this.

And i got my hopes up of getting a new car from Lexus.. lol. Oh well.. 18 months to go.

Hey Mkhan54, Might be out of topic, but how long did it to for you to get your security deposit back from the mail?
