Smile Interior Cleaning Tips (Non-Seats) F Sport

Hey guys,

Happy New Year! New to this forum and just bought an IS200T recently. Love the car, handles great, couldn't be more stoked about it. One thing I am noticing is that the dash and door panels look really faded. I don't normally park in the sun and garage it when I am home (and try to when at work), so I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations on cleaners, sealants, protectors, etc to make it look nicer. An older posts mentioned aerospace UV protector is good, but wanted to know if anyone else uses any other types of cleaners before using UV protector.

Any advice for this noobie would be really appreciated! Thanks!

Hi welcome

Tint rejects 99+% of UV rays, this comes to mind and I use Meguiar's interior detail cleaner . I know of some super high end stuff but haven't tried them yet

Welcome @DaNewGuy12. Congrats on the new purchase. I personally use the 303 on both cars and the boat. I have not been disappointed. As for cleaner, I personally have not had the need to use a cleaner in the IS as I always keep up with the 303. If there is some mud or something on the kick panel then I just use a wet cloth.

A quick word of caution. Do NOT use a hard rubbing motion nor would I use any cleaners on the dash as you risk discoloration. See: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...heir-dash.html

On a more positive note, congrats on your new IS and welcome to the forum!

Does aerospace leave any sort of sheen or film when dried?

I use Mother's Protectant on all plastic and vinyl surfaces. It stays on for at least 2 weeks before needing a small reapply. Since my car has NuLuxe I also use it on the seats

Mothers 05324 Protectant - 24 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007RDVGG..._vMvByb0M8ZW01

it doesn't leave a film, although it does provide a bit of a shine -- nowhere near as glossy as armor all though. it provides for more a matte finish. great product.

I've been using zymol Leather cleaner for 5+ years on 3 different cars, two of which are The is. Personally smells the best nothing fruity or chemical smelling and leaver seats smelling and feeling new.

I keep a bottle of Meguair's Quick Interior Detailer in the car at all times. It works great to maintain your interior with minimal effort. I keep 303 Protectant in the car too, but I use it mostly for the tires and wheelwells. Also, Stoner Glass Cleaner.

Only damp cloth as per the car manual, zero chemicals and if you want/have to clean the nulux seats you can use 3M Vinyl cleaner as the nulux isn't actual leather.
