Default 2016 Lexus IS 200t (Recent Deal)

Here is a recent deal I ran into:

Model: 2016 Lexus IS 200t
Retail Price: $39,373
Savings: $4,976.10
Rebate: $2,500
Sub-Total: $31,896
Fees: $442.75
**Sales Tax: $3,102.92
Interest: 1.9%
Net Sales Price: $35,442.57

So, the Net Sales Price is supposedly after interest and taxes.

We tried to counter with $30,000 if three people bought, but they didn't go for it.

Two questions:

1. How good is the $35,442.57 deal? The interest is 1.9%, but if the $35,442.57 includes it, then that's ok I guess?

2. How crazy is asking for $30,000, if we bring three people that all want to buy at that price? If they're losing money on one 30,000 deal, then selling at that price to three people would be three times worse. But if they're making a little on one deal at this price, I thought three people buying might convince them.

Any help is appreciated and let me know if more information is needed!

At the end of the day it boils down to what others are able to achieve. If there are deals who have achieved 8-9k off sticker then yes, you have wiggle to room. However if 30k is a number you want, but theres no end reward such as backend rebate or such then what does it mean to the dealer if they sell 1 or 3 units; its just a lose lose situation.

So what do you think about the net price of $35,442.57?

Thanks for the tip.

Did your friend have any connections at the dealer?

My friend who got offered the deal I posted knows the owner of the dealer (somewhat formally), and he said that he'd get her a good deal.

I'm suspicious of that and am curious if the deal I posted is really that good.

In your opinion, what's a "wow, really good deal bc of a connection" type deal?

It's not the F Sport.

39K sticker price is a base model IS.

Your're getting roughly 7.5k off sticker price which is not bad. But, I'm sure there may be more wiggle room. Reason being, its end of the year and its a base model IS. I've seen customers get some cars from my dealership couple thousand UNDER invoice; its a rare occasion though.

I bought a 2016 in the beginning of the year, and got roughly 6K in savings from a ~50k sticker.

FSPORT w/ Nav is200t is pretty much fully loaded. I believe the MSRP is ~44k. If you work your numbers good enough I'm sure you can get it 39-40k OTD.

You might want to check the price thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...250-350-a.html

Default IS200t recent deal

Hi,

I just got a 39K 2016 200t for about 28K - I leased it. That includes 3500 lease cash and 2 $500 certificates the dealer had plus the dealer discount.

This was in Southern Cal.
