Default Question about cabin air filter change.

Im trying to change the cabin airfilter for my 2015 IS, but I want to confirm one of the steps while changing them out.
i see that the 2nd gen has a recirculation trap door that must be pressed (incabin circulation) before starting to change the filters.
Do we have to make sure of that step also? I don't see the trap doors like the 2nd gen. Does anyone know where the recirculation trap door is located?
I see lot of diy videos of just swapping in and out on the 2014+ is without mentioning about the trap door.

Thanks!

Jump to the 5 min mark for the cabin filter removal.

since he is also does not mention about the recirculation vent, i suppose it is a plug and play without any precaution?

Yes, you need to have your AC on recirculation or else you won't be able to open the access door (you can force it open and break it...). I'm not sure why you're looking for the actual trap door, though. You don't have touch the trap door to change out the filter, the trap doors unlock when you put your car in recirculation mode.

thank you @AndrewP930 and dojoman, just wanted to double confirm before I break anything. Ive seen so many threads of 2IS with them breaking their latches/ventdoors due to not putting it on "recirculation" mode.
That clarified everything.
Appreciate it!

Wow, really?. When I changed my filter on my 2014 IS, I remember seeing some type of latch/door open and close when I switched the recirculation mode on/off.
