Default Attaching a Rear Diffuser

Hi All,

To attach just a bolt on rear diffuser (goes over stock) - would just double sided tape do it? Given that it's on the underside of the car, just want to make sure it's secure.

Bought one used and getting it repainted so unfortunately don't have instructions for it (if it ever had it). It looks like there are some screw holes and the shop that I have painting it thought that there may be some screws already under the stock that you could unscrew and use to also hold it in place.

I've had double sided tape hold on a body kit on my old Acura RSX and that stuff was pretty robust - to the point that when a metal plate flipped while driving on the highway it pulled an edge and cracked the rear lip without even budging the tape / kit.

Thoughts?

I was gonna say tape sounds a bit risky but if you've had previous experience and it held up well, try it. Personally, I'd try to bolt it on.

I bought the stillen diffuser new, came lined with double sided 3M. Also came with self tapping screws for the bottom if you wanted the extra security. Taped it over stock diffuser, and installed the screws, I'm sure it would be fine without the screws

If you lift the car up you'll see where and how the stock diffuser is put on. It's just some screws that come off pretty easily so I'd so screwing the new one should be just as easy. That's what I noticed when my exhaust was installed and I looked at how the diffuser was attached.

Many thanks for the replies everyone! Based on the info I think I'd prefer to have the extra security of screws. Does anyone by chance have a picture or general size of the tapping screws that typically come with rear diffusers?

Thanks!
