I didn't touch the midpipe, all I did was have a custom axel back made with straight through mufflers. Here they are on magnaflows website.

Yes it was done correctly, straight pipe, cut out the secondary cat and resonator with stock mufflers on. Sounds wack and broken as hell yo!

I'm curious if you've heard a muffler delete on a 350 in person? It was the first mod I did to mine (replaced the mufflers with straight pipes and tips). I get compliments and head turns all the time with almost no droning effect in the cabin. It's a deep rich tone when accelerating and nearly stock when your foot is off the pedal/cruising. It's one of the only V6 cars I feel get a great sound eliminating the mufflers entirely. The only downside is you may get some popping when deaccelerating, but that's normal with a lot of aftermarket exhaust systems as well. Cost me $150 with tips & it's worth every penny...plus it keeps the factory look.

Could you get us some sound clips of yours? I'd like to hear what it sounds like inside the car.

Sure. There are several videos on YouTube but I'll upload something soon.

Side note, I've done extensive exhaust work on several V6 cars in the past and typically deleting the mufflers makes the vehicle sound like a dump truck with intense droning. Crazy thing is, I'm most impressed with this sound then any other $1,000+ exhaust systems I've ever installed! When it comes to droning, don't confuse "hearing your exhaust" VS "vibrating the hell out of your cabin". Videos only provide sound, and can't express the vibrations of droning.

I am on team muffler delete, on an IS350. Sounds sick, I get compliments all the time, hardly any drone and the tone at 3,500-4,000 is so good. I did dual tips on each side, black, it looks super good too. Cost me $300 with everything and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Do you"feel" any loss of backpressure from the muffler delete?

After reading this thread, it has me deciding if I should just do this or get an entirely new exhaust.

Sorry if this is a noob question but is this something I would do by taking it up to a muffler shop? They cut off the muffler and weld on new tips?

That's the idea, but they will extend your piping and out new tips, otherwise your pipes/tips will come up short and undernearth your gas tank as oppose to your rear diffuser.
