Is this in every state? I have to look into mine because I remember the dealer said I had max coverage but then found out it doesn't cover cosmetic damage. They told me this about a week ago when I went in for service.

Hmm, my mistake, I got it through a program with my dealership ("First Automotive" is the provider). I got the "Premium Plus" coverage, which includes cosmetic damage and apparently rental reimbursement. :/ This is probably not applicable for most people.

Turns out the cost was actually $899.

Interesting. We got out 2016 F sport and got the wheel & tire package. I specifically asked about curb rash and the finance manger stated it does cover it. I found a curb rash on the rear wheel. While I had the car in for a wash, I brought up the curb rash. They told me it was NOT covered. I'm reading from here that it IS covered.

If you asked about it specifically, and they said no, I'd assume whatever package you got does not include it. I posted some details about my situation not realizing the program I am in is from my dealership in particular, so it probably doesn't apply to everyone.

Interesting posts on this subject. They wanted like $1500 for it at my dealership. I assume its area dependent as I bought my car at a dealership in North Jersey where there is always potholes and construction. I would have definitely paid the $899 that some of you guys paid, as a new rim from the factory is over $600 on its own

Default Negotiate the Protection

You can always negotiate the price down. They might not have to always agree, but worth a shot.
