Here's what my headlights look like with stock HID projectors and fog lights. Honestly, the LED headlights may look nicer, but I don't think it projects light further than HIDs. The same thing applies to halogen fog lights and led fog lights.

6500K - Low/High Beams
2500K - Fog Lights

It looks like it would actually be a very easy swap to go from LED to HID on the 3IS, it's a plug 'n play swap provided you swap the complete headlight assembly (which, yes, will include the ballast). The only difference is that the LED lights have a feedback signal to the body ECU, in fact it might even work to swap HID to LED without too much trouble at all.

Assuming the turn signal wiring is the same, etc., it should be.

Thanks for the reply Jeff.

Does anyone know of the part numbers for the complete headlight assemblies from the base IS350/250?

Thanks for finding the kit for me. Do you know if this kit is "plug and play". I would rather not spice into my factory harnesses to install this. I like installs to be as clean as possible.

Yes, it should be plug and play. Joe Z actually did this to his car. Nigel-JDM is a forum sponsor as well.

That's correct. If you adjust it to reach further distance, you will instantly lose the light intensity. I needed to adjust it because my car was lowered.

Does anyone know if we could switch out the LED bulbs in this headlamp? Possible switch to a higher wattage LED light bulb. I tried to research this, but I'm not getting any good information if we can or can't.

This is the only aspect of the car I really hate. I just bought my father in a law a CPO Corolla S with LED headlamps and guess what. The Corolla LEDs are better than ours. The beam is much more focused, the light spread is farther and wider as well.

Didn't know why i didn't see this thread until now. I have been looking into swapping my HID to LED headlamps on my 3is as well. I'm still on the fence right now...

From my understanding and research, in order to switch, you would also need to switch out the control module as well. There is a difference between the control module for HID headlamps and LED.
