No, navigation unit doesn't use cellphone towers. No subscription either.

Okay, so if you've got it, you've got it, always on?

I got an enform update notice driving home from work, you have to have the enform app connected, it will advise you there is a mandatory update. I did the update, no issues, pretty sure it was to fix this glitch.

Happened to me too! All I did was disconnect the negative on the battery, leave for about 5 minutes then reconnect it. Turn the car on and it worked fine

Not sure if this is related, but coming home from the dealer yesterday, picked up a new 2016 IS300 F Sport, using NAV, took a hands free phone call, and after the call ended, the Nav was locked up...
Played around with menu/home etc., came back to life....

Indypace, this was when the navigation/radio kept rebooting. You couldn't even access the menu or home screen. Lexus did figure out a solution for that problem though. Just a reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

My Nav quit working at 11:30pm last Tuesday night. It was very disruptive because I was on a road trip and was using the Nav for instructions. Good thing I could use the Nav on my cell.

My biggest complaint was the lack of notification. I'm a new Lexus owner and expected more. There is no reason Lexus couldn't have at least sent an email to those of us who subscribe to their service.

The good news is that when I took my car to the dealer the next day, they not only resolved the issue but also cleaned my car and gave me a couple of Lexus coffee mugs !!

Default Navigation Problem Question

My 2014 IS350 does not seem to be affected by this, the navigation seems fine, so does the radio, so I have not disconnected the negative battery cable. However, I did not use my car for 24 hours and the battery was dead when I went to start it a few hours ago. I did not leave any doors open or lights on. Could the navigation problem drain the battery if the car is unused for a more than a day? I am recharging the battery now, disconnected the negative side. I checked the voltage, it was down to 4.5 volts, the battery appears to be the original one from 2014. Any advice for this first time Lexus owner?
