Default 1500 for the premium paint option....

So by now im thinking of moving on and past lexus to something else. ive only had bad luck at both lexus dealerships ive been to. While 2 lexus dealrships hardly are representative of the whole lexus dealership industry as a whole, they have been nothing short of a headache.

the 1st dealership was just a customer service nightmare and ill leave it at that.
the 2nd dealship which I am moving on from now, first sold the vehicle I was intending to purchase the day before I arrived although they already had the dealer paperwork from my bank. then when I went to purchase a different one they pulled the old okey doke on me.
I had already agreed to pay the increase for paint guard- an extra 1500.
on top of the 41 for the vehicle.
then after I finished signing they told me oh by the way we are adding in an extra 1500 for the paint and it doesn't have navigation.
yes bad on me for not checking but since the vehicle was in the showroom I took a different vehicle for the test drive. I should've checked the window sticker but the manager had told me it had the same options as the I had test drove, guaranteeing me it had nav. they had already taken it out back to detail and get ready for the out processing.

I should take part of the blame for being so naïve, but the price on the premium paint seems steep as the other dealership I visited had the window sticker claiming it was a 345.00 upcharge for the paint.

now this has turned into a sort of rant and I apologize, but I was looking forward to this purchase and the aftermarket upgrades to follow.

if this upcharge is typical and not out of the ordinary pls let me know.
thanks

Did you end up with the car?

If not, why not buy online. There are a lot of very good Lexus dealerships across the US. I'm sure if you find the right dealership to work with and tell them the horrors of what you've been dealing with locally, maybe they can even get you the car shipped for little to no cost to you.

I got my Lexus from JM Lexus which is the largest volume Lexus dealership in the world. They customer service is amazing and the buying process was easy. I knew exactly what I was getting before I even sat down to negotiate. If you didn't already buy the car I would check with www.jmlexus.com and see if they can help you.

Default got it done....finally

yes after much debate and searching, decided to suck it up and go back. ended up purchasing the sonic blue is200t. will post pics soon.
i appreciate the information regarding the site though and i would've used it had i not decided to suck it up and get this one.
after looking on cars.com and car gurus and not finding anything i liked, i decided to return and made it happen after a little conversion.
i can't wait to start the upgrades.
thanks again for the info.
