Thanks for this!

Thought no LFS inspection if dealer takes car for inventory, but thought wrong!

Looks like no LFS inspection only if dealer takes car at Payoff, which is unlikely.

Approximately how long after turn-in will it take to receive our final statement showing any excess wear and tear?

Also, any site we can track our car after turn-in to see where it ended up and what LFS or other party might be asking for same?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if a dealer decides to keep a car for inventory, they take subject to any / all excess wear and tear, which the lessee will not be charged for, therefore...

Also, aside from taking photos upon drop off, can dealers provide a write up of the condition of the car upon drop off? If feel like they'd refuse to, as it's against their interests. Therefore, any other way to protect against additional damage after drop off and prior to LFS inspection?
I returned the car on June 29. It was listed for sale on the dealer's website on Monday of this week for $31,899 and it does not show in search results today. We did take photos of the car upon drop off. The dealer sales agent wrote that the car was in excellent condition on the turn in report sheet and I signed that. I was about 2100 miles over. I have not heard from LFS as to whether I owe them money. The dealer seems pretty pleased to have the car to sell. i would owe LFS about $560 in mileage, but the car still really looks new. I think the dealer sold it already. I leased another one, so maybe they'll be nice.

Oh. Ultra White over Rioja? Hottest color combo for a CPO 3IS. I'll bet they were happy to have it. I have 2 on my lot, 1 came from Idaho, 1 came from Massachusetts and the one I sold a few days ago came from Michigan. I buy EVERY SINGLE clean Ultra/Rioja IS with nav and AWD that I see.

Every one.

It had a red interior and a clean carfax, right? Dealer is likely keeping it. Once it's inspected they can get you a PDF from dealer direct of the inspection report which will show if anything is excess wear and tear.

i agree with waiting for the 2017 IS, it has a lot more features that are worth it, plus i like the exterior styling more imho. they should start arriving at dealerships in october, thats what my dealer told me in NJ

I got my final bill for the IS250 and it was $505 for over mileage, but there were no wear and tear charges (the car looked new) and they did not charge me a disposition fee. The dealer apparently has sold the car.

Wow... even though I expected the mileage bill to be that... it's still quite a bit of money

I expected it to be close to $600 with mileage. Their written statement gave me more miles at close out than the contract I signed. I have seen stories where people were so far over miles that it cost them several thousands of dollars at the end of the lease. I have no complaints. I signed a contract for a 10K/year lease on that car and I went over that amount. The contract was clear on the cost per mile over the agreed upon limit. The real lesson is a 10K/year lease simply doesn't work for most drivers in CA and probably not for most drivers anywhere. Before I changed jobs and shortened my commute, I was probably going to be 3K miles over and that would have been expensive.
