Recommended DashCam?
Hey guys,
I'm looking into getting a Dashcam for my Is350.
Does anyone have a good brand or model that would fit well with the car?
I'm looking for something that isn't too flashy or noticeable. It will be nice if its user friendly too.

Highly recommend Blackvue, comes with a front and rear camera. In addition, you can also get an add on that's called power magic pro which let's the dash cam still record while the car is off.

Hope this helps!

You don't need to spend that much. I've had this for 3 yrs so far works just fine, small and people will not try to steal the cheap ones. All these dashcam use the same chip called Ambarella.
Amazon.com : Afterpartz Mini 0805 Ambarella A7 LA50D Chip + 1.5" TFT LCD + Super HD 2304*1296P & 2560*1080P switchable + GPS Logger G-sensor With 135 degree wide angle (Upgraded Version of 0801 0803) : Electronics

I use Blackvue DR500GW-HD since 2014. i had power magic pro installed but since i park in a garage at home and park next to a camera at work i just ran the wire thru the a-pillar into the cig. jack just to hide the wiring. Picture quality is good, offers live view if you connect it via smartphone/tablet and zero issues so far in the heat/cold. i'll also post the test video clip i uploaded on youtube if you're curious about the quality of the video

The quality is good, but how well does it work at night? I mainly wanna use it during a parking situation, some ppl can't park for shtt.
And I'm for a lower price tag.. broke college kid here. =\

Since my dash cam is only on while i'm driving i only have the night footage with the headlights on. But from the looks of it quality is good. i dunno how clear the picture quality will be with the headlights off and no light source ( i.e lightpoles and such). Maybe i'll park somewhere dark and turn my headlights off and see tonight. I'll let you know

I agree with LINSTEFAN.
Spend the money and get the Blackvue. I spent a while doing research on what's out there and Blackvue was the obvious choice in the end.
After sales support is good as well in terms of firmware releases and application updates (on Android).
Blackvue unit also has lots of features, it's best to simply check out their site. I like the way it integrates with Google maps when watching replays.

I have an older model BlackVue DR400-HD on my Matrix. It's been working for years with no issues. Boot up takes up to 40 seconds which kinda sucks. I have it wired to the ignition so it starts up when I turn on the car. 16GB MicroSD inside. Works great at night too.

Thanks for all the vids. The blackVue is very nice. But its not much budget friendly..
I researched a couple other brands.. What do you guys think about these? I think the dual cams will come in handy..

I can buy all these off amazon for less than $100..

I also agree with using BlackVue.
Make sense because you have a nice car (a Lexus) and spent the money for it, get a nice cam. A lot of people in Vancouver, Canada use this as well.
This known user who posts videos of Vancouver's Dangerous Driver video has both front and rear cams. Here is one of the videos of it in action.
