Guys, I need to get an extra set of sensors... What do I need to look for? Part numbers? MHZ ratings? Both of these seem to be compatible with the 14 or 15 IS... but how can I be sure? does anyone know of a cheaper source?

The factory TPMS Toyota P/N is 42607-30060. I bought a set on Amazon from a Toyota dealer for about $59 each, but they also needed the install kits for about $6 each - it was about $265 when all said and done.
You can buy this same OEM P/N sensors on eBay, used, really cheap. The problem is they have a finite battery life, and there is no date code that I could find on the sensors. Although they are tested and guaranteed to work by the seller, but they might only have a year of life left.
Is there a difference between the us and european version?
Through Techstream i can program 2 set of wheels. If you have the main and 2nd set specified you can switch the set of wheels yourself.
Method to switch between summer and winter set of wheels:
1. Install the tires and wheels that use the correct IDs to the vehicle.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Turn the tire pressure warning reset switch on and off 3 times within 3 seconds (Press/release → press/release → press/release).
4. Check the answer-back function of the tire pressure warning light.
(Make sure that the tire pressure warning light illuminates for 3 seconds and turns off for 0.5 seconds 3 times.)
I just hooked up Techstream to my 2014 IS350 in the US - Looks like the european has the option to store two sets when the US version only has a "main" which is 1. I was hoping to see the option for the secondary set.
I have successfully used the Carista app with a Bluetooth OBDII adapter to re-program the TPMS IDs on my 2015 IS350 and NX200t. It seems the North American models can only hold one set of sensors (poor decision Toyota). You will need to purchase the Pro version ($20 USD). It will cost you about $7 USD for one week of unlimited TPMS programming functionality.

I would call it a very STUPID decision, to only support one set. I can't believe they saved anything worth mentioning, and now people have to jump through these hoops.

Thanks for trying Carista for this! Just to let everyone know, our TPMS registration feature is still under development, so please contact us to get the beta if you're interested in trying it. Specify your car model & yer and whether you're on iOS or Android.
Also a note about the pricing: we've recently launched a new version and done away with the old Pro Package. The pricing for the new features is simplified too: it's either $9.99 for a 1-week Pro pass to all features that Carista has to offer, or a $39.99/year subscription, again for all functionality. Owners of the old Pro Package are "grandfathered in" and will be able to use the new TPMS feature for free when it comes out officially.
Has anyone else had success with the Carista app for programming TPMS? My installer tried to use Techstream to program it, but had trouble - they think it has to do with outdated software on their side (weird). Was thinking of just getting the 1 week pass, but only if the TPMS works. If it's still in Beta, that makes me concerned.

Just email support@caristaapp.com and let us know if you're on Android or iOS and what Google/Apple account you're logged into Google Play Store / App Store with, and we'll set you up with a free trial of the beta. If it ends up NOT working, it won't do anything to the car - it will just not register the new TPMS IDs.

I am in the Beta test to try out the TPMS - it seems really easy to use.
Should it immediately read the PSI? Or do I need to drive it around for it to start working correctly? After programming, it still shows the warning and nothing on the display.

I had to drive like 50-100 feets for them to register when I had mines reprogrammed.
