2014 IS 250 No Nav to Nav conversion
Hi everyone,
Purchased a 2014 Lexus IS250 for a steal price a few years back. It was pre-owned so I could not choose the packages that I would have liked but I just couldn't pass up on the price. Everything was perfect from the white exterior to the red interior except the fact that it did not come with nav. I thought I could live without it (which I did for 2 years) but now that I am travelling more with this car, I am missing the option more and more each day. So my question is, would it be possible to convert to a nav option? I've seen plenty of guides for the 2nd gen IS but I'm wondering if it is even possible for the 3rd gen.

To be completely honest, I have the nav in my 2015 IS350 and it's not worth it because it's slow and annoying to use. The only infotainment component that I think is actually worth the upgrade is the Mark Levinson.

I'm sure with enough money you could swap it out.
I have no issues with the nav system. It's not the fastest in the world, but works without complaint for me using voice command (even with a southern accent ).

The factory Nav is integrated into so many systems that it would be
impractical to retrofit to a non Nav dash. For example, the wheel
speed sensors direct the screen to scroll and rotate when GPS
signals are lost (as in a parking garage).
Most reviews of the system are critical of the price/value anyway
and it's unlikely that an attempt install would improve either one.
Get a good mount and set up an iPad Mini with Waze and Pandora.

Could I ask how much u got the car for?
Safe to assume anyone with a Lexus should have a smart phone?
Google maps?
The nav sucks IMHO
The old touch screen was so much better
Because of the mouse
It makes the system useless, the voice command sucks too
At least your car looks like it has Nav except the shark fin antenna
