Steering wheel whine upon turning
Hey my Lexus fam. So recently, my car started making whining noises upon turning the steering wheel during cold starts. Now, it does it when the car is warmed up too. From what I can hear, its only during slow speeds. Can't take my car to the dealership anymore cause they will charge me $140 diagnostic fee for whatever issues I'm having due to my car being "tampered" with previously. (It's all stock now) Let me know if you guys have the same issue or know how to potentially correct the issue. Thanks.

Whining noises?
Screech, squeal or whine: These sounds usually indicate a problem in your power steering system, either a lose belt, bad pump or low power steering fluid.

Routinely experience the same problem after the car has been sitting overnight. It appears to originate from the steering column and is a dull muted sound that goes away in a few seconds. After over two years, I can assure you this one is likely normal. I've had zero problems with this car in 29 months. I'm considering a new BMW428i convertible, but dread the thought of spending time at the BMW service department.

Yep, happened to me as well!
Got it fixed under warranty, the tech at the service center told me that it was a faulty 'steering column'. It's been 8 months since I got it fixed and the steering makes no weird sounds now.
