Default Repairable or just buy a new wheel?

Was not paying attention and hit a curb really hard on the way out of a tight exit. Probably not repairable but thought that it wouldn't hurt to ask around to see if it is. Lesson learned the hard way

A rim shop might be able to 'clean it up' and make it look decent, but I think you'll always be able to tell...

Your probably looking at a new rim..

Even if a shop were to sand it down, it would still need to be repainted. I'd spend the extra money to buy a new wheel.

It's repairable but the tricky part is getting a reputable repair shop that knows how to paint and match the liquid graphite finish on the IS's F Sport wheel.

I agree with Chrispies, It costs almost the same to get a brand new rim. The finish of a fixed rim is never the same and it is always prone to vibrations. You can either live with one and get aftermarket rims, if you are into customization. Or, just buy a new rim. I had a similar curb rash on my IS and I went for a brand new rim.

You should try PM'ing Bottlefed .. He has a build thread going right now and bought a wrecked IS for parts to repair another and he may have a rim he can part with. Might save you some $$

if i were you, i'd get a new wheel. they'll have to repaint the wheel after the repair, and you can usually tell the difference.

Yeah, decided on buying a new one from the dealer in the future. Any idea how much the dealership would charge to mount the new rim?

^Buy and mount the rim elsewhere. Unless you're rich, their going to rip you off.

OEM wheels should be 600-700 new. I would go for an used one in good condition.
