What Am I getting myself into?
Hey guys so in need of some advice...I currently have the Joe Z Catback and been contemplating the PPE Headers.
-ive spent a couple hours searching but there are so many opinions on these and they're not cheap so i want to know everything i can before purchasing.
-obviously they make the car louder but if i opt to go with the high flow cats I've read the cabin drone is actually less but WOT is really nice and loud... g37-esque.
-how hard is this install? i assumed it was bolt on but from what I've read thats not the case.. seems like a really tough install. what did you guys pay for install?
-is it worth it? i don't mind loud. and i want more power obviously lol. but i don't want a check engine light potential future issues etc. PPE seems like a reputable company. i just want to be sure i know what I'm getting myself into. thanks guys

Same boat as you, doing a lot of research but not that many people have the set up, thus less information readily available on CL.
1 - I never read that it was going to lower the drone. From experience, headers usually (if not always) increases the drone. But yes, heard its a nice when WOT. Also idling with headers will make it sound like a catback on a cold start but permanently
2 - Not sure about the install, but I read it takes 4-6 hours, about $700-1000 depending on the shop
3 - I think it would be helpful for current 3IS owners that are running headers to chime in. Theres no doubt that theres a power increase but at what cost? Increased drone? Gas smell in the cabin? Smog checks when it comes time to it? etc..
Looking for answers as well!

Definitely worth it. Cat vs catless is only 1-2hp difference, minimal at that. I would run catless cause I like the loudness and rasp. Besides, boost likes it.
Install is only hard if you've never done any kind of mechanical work. First time took me about 5hrs. I did get faster but it's been a while so probably around there again LOL just take your time or else you will mess up. Hardest part for me was putting the bolts back on cause it's pretty tight and the angle sucks.
