Default Great car! Wtf break dust?

I've had this car since July '15 and its been great, I love it! But man... the break dust on the front wheels is absurd... I'll get my car cleaned and the wheels maybe stay clean for a day or two and then tehy're back to being covered in break dust.

Something like this really makes me want to consider a lexus again - this was my first, came from the Infiniti G37S 2013.

Anyone have solutions to this?

I'm assuming yours is an F Sport, as the F Sport brake pads produce copious amounts of dust.

You can switch to the non F Sport brake pads. I had them on my IS and they hardly produced any dust. There are some other lower dust brake pad solutions out there and mentioned on this site.

Unfortunately, it's a lease. Paying for new break pads would be silly.

Then I'm not sure you'll find a solution. I don't know of a way to improve it unless you change the pads.

yeah changing out pads is the key.
I changed mines out with less than 1000 miles on the car because of the pain of the dust

These are the non f sport oem pads. Night and day difference. Think it ran $60 or so from the dealership.

You'll have to anyway as they'll only last 15-20k

Are you planning on never changing your pads.... cause it's a lease?

Is it only the front pads that produce copious amounts of brake dust? I've had my IS350 F-Sport for about 3 weeks and noticed the brake dust also. I'll probably change them out but was wondering if I should replace just the fronts or the fronts and rears.

That's one of the reason I got gun metal color rims. No worry about cleaning

Give it a little while, you'll notice a huge difference between the front and back rims. You'll need to clean them, unless it doesn't bother you to have gunmetal rear and black front rims. Just yesterday I saw a lady in an IS and it was obvious that she hadn't cleaned her car in awhile. It looked like she had two sets of rims.

The upside to the brake dust is that if you get curb rash like I have you won't feel the need to rush out and buy a new rim because the rash is completely caked over and hidden!
