Anybody use regular fuel?

Not driving your car to keep the resale value up, is like not having sex with your wife to keep her ***** fresh for the next guy.
So yes, no one cares about the next owner nor should you, unless of course you sell to someone you know..
But to further comment on this thread, if the OP wants to cheap out, go right ahead. He will be the one to bare the cost of any damages to the car as a result of their cheapness if it happens prior to the car being returned.

What people do with their money is their prerogative, but a good amount of people follow that logic since most people are price sensitive. It's that same reason I'll never buy a used car of any kind.

I haven't tested it with the IS but with other cars I've had that recommended high octane they got better gas mileage with it. 3 mpg better on the hwy with premium fuel vs regular. So the few bucks that people think that they're saving per tank is actually not that much because the engine has adjusted itself for the lower octane and backs off power / performance which results in reduced fuel economy.
My old manager had a VW Passat turbo that he ran regular fuel in. The guy was the definition of cheap. I tried to explain to him that if he ran premium that he'd see an increase in gas mileage which would offset he's perceived savings and the engine would most likely have more power and last longer. But all I got back in response was a deer in the headlights look.
