Buying/Financing a 2016 IS200t FSPORT.. Help Pls.
Hello everyone,
I am new to the forums and especially new to Lexus car scene. I am looking to purchase a new car but I am having trouble deciding and finding one that fits my budget. (Under 40k OTD if possible).
I have narrowed down my choice to the IS200t Fsport. (I was originally going for the BMW 328i Msport).
I went to a dealership closest to my school to test drive and ask for a quote. The MSRP for the car was $43,000 (Base+FSPORT+Blind Spot+Spoiler). He offered to save me $3,000, and OTD for $44,000. This is a only like 6.8% off MSRP...averages savings I've heard and read are at 10% at the very least.
What do you guys think of this deal? IMO, I think it can be WAAY lower. I read on the forums that someone got $42,000 OTD with same options PLUS navi...
(I'll post a pic of the quote)
Thanks for the help and input!

I'm not sure about in the US, but the dealer I went to in Canada gave me invoice cost + 4% for my IS350. Use an online service to find out what the invoice cost is for your car, then use that as a bargaining chip.

The price he gave me for the car itself was a little over their invoice, around $500-800 more.
I still think the price 44k OTD w/o Navi is still pretty pricey for the car.
I will go to a different dealer and try to get 41-42k OTD for one with navi.
But, do you guys think 40k OTD (or even) 41k for the is200t fsport w/o navi is a possible price?

Not sure what the going price is for the 200T is but general negotiating rules is that the first price they give is never the best price. Be prepared to walk away and say you're going to check out other dealers (I negotiated for a week+ before getting my deal, which was the best on the forums at the time). Also, if you are in socal, check out Longo, as they are a volume dealer.

If you have a costco membership you should definitely check out their prices. They have one of the lowest prices out there without the negotiating hassle.
From my experience it's usually under or around invoice price.

Yeah, I already knew it was a bad deal. So I did walk away. I will be visiting other dealers, I'm in no rush to buy.
$3,000 off MSRP is nothing. When I bought my Mazda6 2012. I was able to save 4.5k and this was in 2011.
