Default Anyone install an aftermarket security system on their '16 yet?

Hi all, happy to be here.

Proud new owner of a beautiful '16 IS350 F-sport. First order of business, as with any car that I buy, is to upgrade the security system. My vehicle is equipped with the Lexus Enform suite; I can already remote start via the phone app, so I'm mainly looking for an aftermarket alarm system to provide me with impact sensing, tilt sensing, glass break sensing, and a 2-way key fob. I had a Compustar system in my previous vehicle and I loved it, because it worked seamlessly alongside my vehicles factory security functions (OEM key fob still worked, alarm would disarm when doors opened with OEM key fob or button pressed on door). I would like to install Compustar's new PRO T-11 system on my new IS.

The issue, however, seems to be that the 2016 Enform equipped vehicles have to have the factory security system completely removed or else the Compustar system will not work. This is what I was told by an install shop, and from Compustar tech support. Obviously, I'd prefer not to go this route as I worry about technical problems down the line.

My question is, has anyone successfully installed an aftermarket alarm system on their '16 IS? If so, please share your experience. I'd be happy to know that there is a system out there that works properly alongside the factory security system.

Thanks for any input!

impossible to completely remove the factory alarm system. it is too integrated.
It will have to stay put. Whoever told you it has to be removed is crazy.
you need interface module to go between aftermarket alarm and vehicle.

compustart idatalink module.

DEI Xpresskits module (doesnt list 2016 support, so might be minor difference in software and have to wait for fw release but i doubt it, just probably not tested by them yet so not listed)

specONE, thank you for your reply. I agree with you 100% as far as removing the factory system. I was just losing hope when Compustar support told me that the factory system had to be pulled - hearing this was a first for me. I am encouraged by this information that you have provided. I am scheduled to bring the car in to Lexus in about a week, where they will handle the install. My service adviser said that they can install a system for me but did not outline exactly what model they use. I inquired about the Compustar system and I am awaiting his reply to see whether or not they will be able to install it for me. Hopefully I am successful in having the T-11 installed. Will keep you updated.

Thanks again for your reply

I wouldn't take car to Lexus dealership to install the alarm. Honestly don't think majority of Lexus technicians out there would be able to handle installation of aftermarket alarm unless they came from a car audio installation background prior. Its the nature of thr beast as mechical work vs aftermarket electronics are in different fields of the stadium. 9/10 times the work will be contracted out to a expeditor that specializes in this and you will pay the markup cost instead.
This is how it will most likely play out. I've done "expeditor" work in the past.

You're correct again;

My service adviser informed me that they have a specialist come in to handle security system installs. I would have taken it to the shop that did the alarm in my old car, but I wasn't too pleased with their work - the alarm functioned properly but the install was a little on the sloppy side. My adviser informed me that this will be their first installation on a '16 and, if for whatever reason the alarm does not work as it should, they will return it to its stock configuration at no charge to me. This seemed like a fair deal, so I figured I'd give them a chance.

I may just be being paranoid, but I'd hate for the other shop to try it, run into trouble or find out it won't work, and then do a sloppy job to return it to stock.

At any rate, I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again for your insight
