Default Drag Race - 15' IS350 vs 15' Charger R/T

So, my friend in his Charger R/T and I decided to find out which car is faster
I wasn't expecting my IS350 to win the races, but I was surprised how well it launches from a stop as compared to the Charger with so much more torque.

We ran a couple of races and each time the Lexus kept pulling away from the charger. Guess power to weight really matters and also the gearbox in the Lexus does it's job really well.

That Charger model does it in 5.3 to 60. Its a drivers race so you probably launched the car better. Tell your friend to drive better

Haha, we also decided to do a rolling race from 40 km/h and the Lexus took the lead again by half a car length.

Those Chargers and Challengers are HEAVY. I blew the doors off an R/T Challenger in my old 1999 Z28 Camaro. That car was stock except for the intake and a catback exhaust(good for maybe 10-15hp). Difference was weight, Challenger is 4300lbs, Camaro was about 3400.

Exactly they are really heavy. Leave your gas tank quarter tank and you will probably get 5.4 to 5.5 seconds in 60. Maybe

those chargers are dogs. I gave one a test drive recently; an R/T with the hemi. it felt like a rental car. no thanks. to each their own though... still almost put a deposit on a scat pack charger but went with the is350 f sport at the end of the day.

I almost bought the SRT-8 Charger and then I test drove the IS350 and it completely changed my mind. Lexus is the better overall package. Although those Chargers and Challengers sound mean.

Yes - they are. I want to see a 2G vs 3G 350 drag. My money is on the 2G.

2G IS350 is about 13.5 in 1/4 and 3G IS350 is about 14 sec.

Dodge Transmissions are AWFUL. I don't care what the numbers say, this is always the problem with any dodge I've driven.

I'll have to agree with you. They are such good cars and the engines sound great but to keep up with the competition they'll have to improve their drive-trains. And little weight reduction but that's probably too much to ask for.
