Default '14 Lexus IS 250 F Sport dashboard stitching

Hi everyone, has anyone had any issues with their dash board stitching coming apart? I have a 2014 Lexus IS 250 with red interior and the stitching is coming apart. The stitching is fraying and looks like static and it's fuzzy. Lexus replaced it once then it happened again and they refused to replace it again.

I know. It is really strange. No, I haven't used any cleaner or put anything on it.

the dealer refused to replace it again or corporate refused? i doubt corporate would refuse and i would definitely give them a call assuming all is true regarding not using any cleaners nor placing any abrasive items on top of the dash.

I have never seen that happen, and for it to happen twice is even more unusual.

are you doing any type of cleaning there? I don't see how that could happen (twice) without some sort of contact on it. Otherwise, you have mice...

Remote, but possible.

OP, do you suddenly see the stitching undone next day you're in the car or is it a gradual undoing?

It makes me wonder if they actually fixed it the first time.

My mother in-law is a seam-stress and she has a special tool for fixing threads like that.. Basically she pokes it back into the material..

Anyway, perhaps you can find a tailor/seam-stress and explain to them and see if they can 'tuck' the treads back in for you.. The only other way to really fix that would be to replace the whole dash.

The dealer refused to replace it again and I called corporate and they sided with the dealership. I told them over and over again that something is going on with the dash because I didn't touch it , clean it or do anything to it and they insist I did it. They said it must be due to " outside factors ".

No, no cleaning has been done. The dealership stated the first cause was poor quality of thread but aren't owning up to it for the second time and not replacing it again.

The stitching is fraying... It looks like static and fuzzy. When I first purchased the car in June 2014 I noticed the stitching fraying probably 5 months after. Then when it was replaced the stitching started doing the same thing approximately 5 months later. So, it's just gradually happening.

They actually replaced the dash the first time. The thread it actually fraying .. Like it looks like static and it's fuzzy. The only way to fix it is to replace the dash but they refuse to do it again. Even though they admitted that the quality of thread if poor the first time. That's what they put on their invoice. Thank you for your suggestion.
