Worthy of consideration, no doubt. We're starting to develop a list of options, and the NX will be looked at. Just a bit concerned at the sizable downgrade in power.

I say don't do it and keep the IS350. The 200t will be disappointing after having a 350. Its only good if you upgrade from a 250 but the 350 is another league altogether (and the NX will be heavier too!). I have 2 kids aged 8 and 5 and the IS350 is more than suitable vehicle to haul them around. I think the IS350 was about the same sized vehicle as the Camry from the 80s which I was hauled around in. No reason to think you need a bigger vehicle if you already have an RX

Not sure if any of you go / have gone thru' this feeling.. How long does it last with this car. Does it eventually wear off?
I'm still loving my non-F IS350 RWD a year later. I waited for years and years for a worthy replacement for my MY2000 E46 BMW, and Lexus made just what I was looking for - a truly fun handling sedan, combined with a very comfortable ride.

Well stated. This was an excellent upgrade from my Acura TL. Couldn't be happier

I love driving my car, but spending at least 2 hours in it per day on the highway to and from work is zero fun. So if I were you, I would not necessarily wish every drive was longer

I have more fun driving my E46. The Lexus makes me feel sleepy whereas the BMW puts a smile on my face. The ultimate driving machine.

Glad you think so highly of the E46/BMW. It's good to see opinions from folks who own both cars.

I drove the 328i for about 10 miles before trying out the IS350. Was sold on the IS350 almost immediately. But that's just lil 'ol me.

I agree that the BMW E46 (made between 1999 and 2006) is a super fun car, a better handling vehicle that the current IS 350 and the current BMW F30 as well.

When it was time to retire my 2002 BMW 330 XI, I test drove a 2014 F30 and found the handing inferior and the steering numb. It was much less fun than my car to drive. I then test drove and bought the newly available IS 350 F Sport. To my surprise, the Lexus was much more of a driver's car (in sport plus) than the current BMW.

In fact, if I had to rate the three cars on fun, handling and overall drivability, I would give the E46 a 10, the 3IS an 8 and the current BMW F30 a 6.

Default i suggest

putting a aero bed in back seat and blow it up and sleep in the car,
this way you don't have disassociation issues

OP, it's been 2 years and 2 months owning the IS which is a testament to how much I like this car. I rarely keep cars for more than two years...

I had the itch to move to an RC F this past spring, but I decided to invest in a much cheaper alternative in new wheels and lowering springs to re-ignite the IS-love. Since then, I feel like I have a new car again. My wife now loves the IS more than the NX and when she has a choice she picks the IS!

lexus did a brilliant job with the is350 they upped the germans with the rear suspension and handling.
the interior is still too small for me but others that are not small people love the car and say the interior is fine.
great car... city mpg is still an issue especially in traffic getting 240 miles to a tank

I drive like I stole it and mostly have city miles. I've never gotten as bad as 240 miles for a tank. I got about 300 miles when I drove like that, all city miles. I average 19-20 mpg and 17-18 when I drive naughty.
