Fuel door not shutting securely?
How is the fuel door suppose to stay shut, magnet or spring?
While getting gas yesterday morning i noticed it looked like it was open. when i went to shut it it kind of flopped around and i can manually pull it open with my finger with almost no resistance at all.

HAHA yes, i am aware you need to press it shut, you also need to press to open
what im saying is that once that spring mechanism (that opens it) is compressed the door itself doest have enough pressure to stay again it, it just kind of flops around

I've observed that the "leash" or tether that attaches the cap to the quarter panel is often bunched up and obstructive to the fuel door. I usually have to adjust that in order for the door to close flush.

Same thing happened to me, adjust tether leash and should shut fine.

I had a problem with the fuel door staying shut when I first bought the car. I would refuel, then a week later the gas fuel door wasn't flush with the car. This happened during the winter months and went away on its own.
I told Lexus dealer about it, they couldn't replicate the issue and for some weird reason, it didn't come back during the 2nd winter I had the car. This coming winter will be #3, so I will see if this problem reoccurs.

Thought it was a defect in the locking mechanism, brought it to the dealer and everything was fine, all the cars in the show room exhibits the same thing. Felt really stupid afterwards.

Had the same issue. Its most likely the fuel cap cord thing. I took my car in to the dealer the first week I bought the car and it took them an hour to figure it out...
