Default How to Disable Seat Belt Alarm 2015 IS

Has there been a proven methods for turning off the pesky seat belt alarm? I just recently picked up 2015 IS350 and I'm not a big fan of being told what to do, especially my car telling me to put my seatbelt on. My 2011 ISF was supper easy. I have done some digging and all I have come up with is that the dealer has to do it.

Default Techstream is the answer, or maybe Carista

You could also get it done at the dealership. Its one of the settings that can only be altered there. I just got mine done along with a few other settings.

Carista is something I used on my IS and it works seamlessly.

i can't comprehend at all why anyone would consciously not use a seatbelt after having considered the inherent risks of driving an automobile. i mean, perhaps those risks haven't been considered by those who forgo the seatbelt. it's baffling nonetheless.

Default Turning off the alarm doesn't mean not wearing a seat belt

I didn't see where the OP said s/he wasn't going to wear a belt, they just asked to silence the warning chime. I wear my belt religiously but one of the first things I did to my last two cars was disable the chime.

But the warning won't come on if the driver put on the seat belt before he drives.
There are people like to fly out from their car when there's an accident but there also are people who don't want to see a dead corpse laying on their windshields when theres an accident.

On the IS, does the chime come on before you start moving? Because on many cars, it comes on when you turn on the ignition... which is silly. I may want to turn on the ignition to let the engine circulate its oil for 20sec, during which time I put on my glasses, plug in my phone, put on my seat belt. I don't want the chime beeping throughout this whole time, even though I do wear my seatbelt 100% of the time when the car is moving. And I actually don't need a chime to remind me of that - I feel weird NOT wearing a seat belt when I'm sitting in a car.

That's what Carista is all about - letting you configure your car the way YOU like it, not the way Lexus thought the masses would like (or would be safer).

It chimes once you get above a certain speed (I believe around 15 km/h or so). This also applies to passenger seatbelt if there is a passenger.

Ok, well then I'd recommend keeping the chime on, just in case you forget to put on your seat belt. But everyone can decide for themselves.
