Default Problem pumping fuel?

Anyone else have this problem of pulling up to the pump with an empty tank and having it stop pumping after like 5 gallons when you know your tank is empty. It continues to keep clicking and stopping and I don't even know if it's full yet or still needs more and requires a guessing game which can then cause a fuel spill. Really annoying because I'm not sure if its the costco pumps or my fuel tank

Usually there's a problem with the pump when I experience something like that.
Pump may be low on fuel or simply malfunctioning.

I'd say try a different pump or better a different gas station next time that happens.

Could be the pumps flow rate is on the high side and as your tank fills it is kicking it off. Try pumping at half speed and see what happens.

Common problem on Toyota FJ Cruisers.

That's probably the pump's problem. Try a different station.

+1 for another station or half speed to see if that helps.

happened to me as well. all you gotta do is hold the nozzle up a little bit and it should work no problem.

it's definitely the costco pump, happened to me a couple times. I just hold it down, the pump should shut off when it's full automatically the same way it does when you are not holding on to it.

Thanks for the feedback, I also checked at a different station and it does the same thing. The only way around this is to hold the pump up high which is a pain..

happened to me the other day and it was the pump. i went inside the station and asked the attendant to switch me to a neighboring pump and filled up with no problems.

I had this problem too but when I tried filling more gas, (since it was half full) it overflowed out.
I never figured out the exact reason why this happened but whenever I go back to that gas station, I would avoid that pump. So far I havent had that problem since.

This keeps happening to me 2 times in a row and at the same gas station. I think there's something not right with the car. I did switch to another pump same problem. Has anyone report to Lexus for this issue?

Did you try completely different gas station?

Think this issue has came up too many times...

I never had this type of problem, at any gas station, with any car but this one.

I don't know about you guys... but i'm taking my car to service to have them check it out/warranty the unit.
