Smile hakkapeliitta r2 vs WS80 - For Quebec Winters

Hello All ....

Im going to get new winter tires for my is250 awd downsize from 18" to 225/45/17 (with new rims)

WS80 200$/tire
H.. R2 220$/tire

I have had a hard time finding head to head tests of r2 vs ws80

I have seen r2 vs ws70 and xi3 but not R2 vs ws80

I am worried aboout the following:

WS80:
-thread life
- latteral grip

H R2
- Latteral grip

I had the WS70 on my last car and it was good, but found the latteral grip to be only ok on snow and slush

Does anyone have experience on Latteral grip of either these tires?

Thank you all

The WS80 is very new tire. I wouldn't be surprised if noone here has it yet.

I have the R2 for my IS350 in 17" and I am very pleased with them. Also very quiet for a winter tire.

I bought mine from PMC Tire in Sherbrooke.

Thank you...

How is the lateral grip when you take a corner in snow?

Thanks

I have had no concerns, however I have not tested them in a safe place to find out.
