Default Is the 17" Spare large enough for F-Sport Brakes?

Update: So I put away my "Jump to Conclusions Mat" and pulled out my jack and torque wrench to find that the spare fits just fine.

I searched and couldn't find a definitive answer but am fairly certain that I've read at least twice that the 17" spare provided with the IS is not large enough to clear the F-Sport brakes.

Is this true? If so... why would they even provide it to begin with? I know I could jack my car up and pull my wheel to test and I still might but I thought I'd ask.

If it doesn't fit it, I'll just remove the damn thing. Because even though possible, putting the spare on the rear and moving a rear wheel to the front would be completely ridiculous, let alone potentially damaging to the diff with 2 wheels of different diameter.

Thanks!

The "F-Sport" comes with the same brakes as the non-F-Sport. When people refer to F-Sport brakes, they usually mean the big-brake kit, which is an aftermarket option and requires 18" wheels.

The brakes you have will clear 17's just fine, as you found out.

IS250 factory brakes clear 16's
IS200t/350 factory brakes clear 17's
F-Sport BBK clears 18's

That makes perfect sense, thank you. I couldn't imagine I had a factory spare in my trunk that was good for nothing but increasing the weight of my car.

Thanks for testing. I feel this is something Lexus definitely would have thought of rather than sticking a random spare in the trunk.
