Sorry to bring up this old thread back up but just wanted to share something.

I got a second hand 2014 Lexus IS250 F-Sport and didn't initially know that the wheels were staggered. One day I got a flat on the left front tire and went to a used tire place to get a temporary replacement and the workers brought it to my attention that both the driver side tires were 225/40/R18 and both passenger side tires were 255/35/R18 and suggested that the previous owner may have had a front rim rotated with a rear rim by mistake. At the time I was in a hurry and had already been driving on the setup for a few months so I had them replace the tire with the bigger of the two sizes so I'm now running 255/35/R18 on 3 of my rims and 225/40/R18 on my left rear rim. There are no tire noises or any type of rubbing in the front and if anything the grip actually felt a little better.

I'm going to get all 4 tires for replaced soon to factory spec or wider likely.

Also check rim widths as they should be different on an 2wd car.
Widest on rear . OEM 225 front 255 rear.

Hey guys, I have a 2017 Is 300 F Sport. I want to put 19"x9 in the back and 19"x8 1/2 in the front. Is that OK to do without losing handling? If so what size tires go with them? Thanks

Curious as to why you think you'll lose grip? But I went to 19x9 square set up, 235 35 19 tires and I did notice loss of grip for sure.
