It's strange while USB for the 3rd Gen in US because Canada has them.
what makes it's slightly different?

so it's not the same as usb found on the nx, gs-f and rc/f models?

Yes, that's correct. Hard for me to explain since it's been a while since I have seen it them side by side. The USB 2.0 appears a little deeper and darker than USB.

At first glance if you see the car by itself, you wouldn't really realize it until you put a USB and a USB 2.0 vehicle side by side.

All good points, though in your post! ^^
yeah, then an es300h would be your best bet if you were to stay within the lexus family. would you wait until the mid-cycle refresh or are you going to be buying right away? i think the refreshed cars will hit the dealers soon as 2016 models -- http://www.lexus.com/models/ES-hybrid.

best of luck!

^ i think the exterior of the 3IS is really quite attractive. additionally, along with the older es you posted above, the newly refreshed 2016 ES is also an attractive car.

as for interiors, the IS' luxurious ambiance is a bit lacking even when one opts for the luxury package, although the interiors of the ES, GS, and LS are all top-notch.

i think that lexus needs to tone down the grill significantly -- it can remain, although it's more than a bit too prominent on a number of models.

the only model that stands out as inelegant is the new nx for me. well, i suppose the gx and lx aren't very elegant, either, although they fill a different set of customer needs.

You are correct. But based on the new Lexus Product Spec sheet, the 2016 ES will not have the semi-aniline leather as an option in the Ultra Luxury package and I LOVE my semi-aniline leather in my IS 250. So If I bite I will get a 2015.

I'm looking at the 2016 ES300h spec sheet and it does indicate that semi-aniline leather is still available:

Ultra Luxury Package
 Luxury Package contents
 Ambient lighting
 Driver’s seat cushion extender
 Manual door sunshades
 Passenger seat memory
 Power rear sunshade
Semi-aniline leather-trimmed interior with embossed pattern
 Requires Navigation or Navigation with Mark Levinson; optional wheels; heated wood steering wheel, one touch power trunk, rain sensing wipers with de-icer; Bi-LED headlamps; Park Assist; Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert

so in your opinion which looks better?
I always found usb had too much hint of purple under certain lightning conditions or needed to be a tad deeper
either way if its barely that noticeable I'm still okay with that as usb is great as is
best lexus color and goes totally against there conservativeness

http://www.lexus.com/models/ES-hybrid/packages

WHen using Lexus's Build-Your-Es configurator it doesn't show semi-aniline leather with the UL package, as well.

Maybe this is an error?

The Lexus site is, unfortunately, an often inaccurate and difficult place to get a complete picture of the options and packages. Always go to the actual Product Information sheets.
