Need repair advice.
Hey guys,
I have a 2015 IS 350 F Sport, did a trip to yosemite this weekend and underestimate the clearance on the ground and ended up messing up the front bumper.
It needs to be replaced based on the damage. I called the insurance company and they told me if the repairs are under 1500, I just need to pay deductible of 500 and my insurance won't go up, if its over 1500, then my rates would increase.
How should I proceed? anyone know the cost of a new front bumper?
My goal is ultimately to spend little out of pocket as possible without rates going up.
I don't have any experience with auto body work or any tactics on how to approach without getting screwed by body shop or insurance, so any advice would be helpful!
Thanks!

If the bumper has to be replaced, I'd suggest shopping online for a replacement. You should be able to find a wide range of prices offered for the part, from the "stealership" variety to wholesale. This way, you can eliminate the potential markup from the body shop.
From there you can search around to see which shop offers the best pricing on repainting/matching the front bumper. I'd suggest finding one well-reviewed, possibly one you know a friend/family has used in the past (for ideas of sample work).
Personally, going the insurance route may be the best bet. I wouldn't foresee all the work being over $1500. Just get a few quotes from local (well-reviewed) shops.
Best of luck to you!
