Blind Side Monitor/Backup Camera no beep sound?
I am curious; is it NOT suppose to beep when BSM has detected a car and you try to put blinker on? Mine just blinks the icon on the mirror, which is not nearly as noticeable as a audible sound.
Also, what about the backup camera?
Obviously, this car has sensors... but why don't the beep?

I'm always thankful that the BSM does NOT beep at me. Would be going off all of the time!
I have multiple traffic lights on my way to work which have two left turn lanes. I am in the right of those two (if that makes sense) so with my left signal on and cars next to me in the other left turn lane, my BSM would be beeping like crazy. The blinking light is distracting enough.

My point is simply that I would not want it to beep, because there are situations, like the one I mentioned, where it is appropriate to be signaling while a car is in your blind spot. If it beeped every time a situation like this occurred, it would drive me nuts.

I'm glad it doesn't beep every time a car is detected on the blind side. That will drive me nuts, especially in the freeway.

^^^ I think the OP is only questioning if it should beep while there is a car in the blind spot AND your turn signal is on. In that case, the BSM light in the mirror flashes. OP is asking if it should beep too in that scenario. The answer is no, it doesn't beep.

When it beeps, it's the rear cross traffic alert. The BSM won't beep. Even though they use the same sensors, they are different systems. I don't want the BSM to beep or else it will always go off. Imagine when there are 2 turning lanes and there are cars in your blind spot. The BSM will beep from the beginning to the end of the turn. That will be too annoying.

I agree. People do seem to enjoy rolling up on the left as if to pass, then hovering in the blind spot. The BSM has detected vehicles that I didn't know where there twice and that makes me glad I have that feature.
