infotainment in my Mustang GT is better than Lexus. 2016 Ford is getting an even bigger upgrade: better hardware, capacitive screen for swipe and pinch zoom, more smartphone like response

Didnt Toyota just team up with Ford for infotainment on one of their models? If so, maybe Lexus might be heading that way.

Personally, I think the system in the new RX looks fine.

Basically the answer given to me was that there is a complete new software going to make it out and will be available for the IS only. It's code named MH13 whatever that means but it's significantly improved. A wait of 6-12 months is expected
Oh boy that sounds promising and almost too good to be true

Just so that everyone knows, Lexus does not write the infotainment software. They contract out to *many* companies to do bits and pieces of the whole package. One company may write the interface and another the network stack that is used to talk to your phone. I don't envy the Lexus project managers who have to keep track of all the different pieces and their status.

Scrolling through my sirius xm channels is a NIGHTMARE!!!! So slow and nothing about it is cohesive with jogging through the stations. Am I the only one here?!? Then the app suite is total GARBAGE. Pandora always shows up with a tether error which really tries my patience.
This things interface is about as user friendly as a grizzly bear or a clogged toilet...
