Buyers Beware From TireRack if Looking For Brake Rotors
Hi,
I have always been a loyalty customer from TireRack due to the positive experience I have.
So when I chose to purchase brake rotors for my 2014 Lexus IS350 AWD F Sport I bought from TireRack again.
Part Number 128.44138 128.44137
When I tried to install the rotors they do not fit.
The hub is rubbing the wheel bearing.
So I tried to contact TireRack to resolve the problem and provide them with my VIN.
After extensive emails they deny my return because they said the VIN does not show its a F Sport package when clearly its a IS350 F-Sport AWD even I provided them with the photo of my car.
I told them even I input it as IS350 non F-Sport model these part number would still show up.
I gave them print screen to prove they are wrong but they still deny my return because I scratch the paint on the hub of the rotors during installation.
Saying they will only accept the return if the product is brand new and no damage.
So for those who are looking to purchase rotors for their 2014 Lexus IS350 AWD F-Sport or non F- Sport the ones for RWD will not fit.
Do not purchase StopTech Part Number 128.44138 or 128.44137

just keep calling them and emailing them.
i havent ordered anything from tire rack before, but i know they have really good customer service. I have stoptech rotors, but i got them from THM motorsports. I bought the pads and rotors through them and had no issues.
i dont think the rotors are different on the AWD and RWD, but here are the part numbers for the rotors i bought. I have stoptech drilled/slotted.
here are the part #
front left:: 127.44138L
front Right:: 127.44137R
If you want the slotted:
Front left:: 126.44138SL
Front Right:: 126.44137SR
http://thmotorsports.com/
Good luck, hope you are able to resolve the issue

After 1200 plus out of pocket and towing expenses, AND paying for a brake job 2x the same thing happened with rock auto. Rock auto even admitted there faults. I'll post all the correspondence later. As far as I am concerned this is false advertising

Yes be very careful ordering parts for these cars. Make sure you get the exact configuration of your car and/or supply a VIN with orders.
I'm had issues getting the right brake pads for my F Sport from Amazon and THMotorsports (supplier issue mainly). Rockauto should be fine if you're careful when picking parts though.

I had something related happen to me with Tirerack a while back. I bought and installed new brake front brake rotors for my e90 328i, Centric Rotors High Carbon rotors with Stop Tech Pads. I bedded the pads using StopTech's instructions, and within a month and a half the rotors had warped. I bedded the pads several times and no change. I called Tirerack about inquiring about any kind of warranty for and basically told me I was SOL. I would have thought a company like Tirerack would have a better warranty for brakes.

Thank you for all the advices.
I have filed a dispute on the payment and will wait for further contact from TireRack.
This is one of the emails I sent to TireRack :
I have a 2014 lexus is350 awd with the f sport package. If you show the photos of my car to any lexus specialists they will tell you this is the f sport package which is exactly what I selected when I made the purchase.
Regardless if I have f sport package or not this will still be the wrong product for my vehicle because when i put in as 2014 lexus is350 awd non f sport the same product code would pop up. Am I right?
I have purchased many times from tire rack and have never experience any issues.
I'm very disappointed this time with the wrong application issue.
I have to refund them because I have no use for this item.
TireRack Replied:
I don’t know how to explain this any better……….yes, it will pull up the rotors but because it says for F Sport model, you would not order it if you did not have the F Sport model.
You can contact StopTech if you wish to discuss this and provide them with the same information and VIN number for the vehicle.

Wow, that gets under my skin.... You have an F sport thats why you ordered the F sport model... I would call an be livid.... completely unacceptable for anyone to talk to you like that, one of the many problems with email. The guy thinks he can just say anything he wants...
Again I would call, get off of email and ask for a supervisor. I would also call stoptech and get the correct part number so you can show that the website is messed up...

Sorry for all the difficulty and confusion regarding the order. I hope I can help to shed some light on the situation.
The car has the F Sport wheels and the F Sport body kit- there's no denying that. When you run the VIN, though, it does not pull back an F Sport vehicle. Also, the photos of the stock brakes from your vehicle are definitely non F-sport brakes. I'm not sure if you have a Canadian spec car (or if that would make a difference or not) but we can be certain that your vehicle does not have F-Sport brakes on it.
You are correct that the brakes you purchased come back in the search results on the website whether you search for the F-Sport or the non F-Sport, but the correct brakes for your vehicle do, too. In your screen shot of the rotors from the website, you can see below the manufacturers part number it says "Note: (Front Left) Drilled Rotor For Sedan With F Sport Package" The non-F IS unfortunately doesn't have a drilled or slotted rotor that we carry, so you have to look to the plain rotors, part# 120.44184 and 44185. The note on those rotors specifies that they exclude the F-Sport model, so those are the brakes you would need for your car.
I'm not sure how or why your vehicle ended up with the appearance upgrades and not the brakes, but that's what set this whole thing in motion. As a goodwill gesture, we are going to take the brakes back and credit you for them. Our customer service department is supposed to be in contact to arrange the return, so please let me know if that doesn't happen.

I'm confused. I thought the rotors on the non F Sport and the F Sport were the same (both are 13.1 inches) and the only difference was that the F Sport has the high friction pads. So I can't figure out how you can look at the pictures and be sure his brakes are non F Sport brakes, or why that would make a difference.
His car is clearly an F Sport, so I'm wondering if maybe the VIN was input incorrectly? Though again, I don't get why it matters when we're talking rotors. Am I missing something?
