This...little heat will soften up the tape enough to peel it off

Quick Pro/Con list based off of 2 weeks of use

Pros:
  • Pleasure to look at all day - makes an already sporty steering wheel look even more aggressive
  • More room to shift (~1 inch more to the top and bottom of OEM shifter, ~1/2 inch to the sides)
  • Shifts feel more crisp and solid due to the extra weight
  • Fitment is spot on
  • Makes driving experience THAT much more enjoyable
Cons:
  • Can burn you like a seatbelt on very hot days (cools pretty quickly with the AC on, though)
  • Still can't shift from 10 & 2 positions (I have pretty big hands too)
  • The extended bottom makes it harder to reach your cruise control / if you shift and pull the CC lever up at the same time, they collide (unlikely to happen but thought I'd mention it)
  • If you occasionally use your left knee to steer the wheel, you have a good chance of downshifting on accident

thanks for the review! it addressed my 2 concerns. how hot it gets in direct sun, and will it affect knee steering (no joke). props to you

And here I am wishing to remove the paddle shifters. They get in my way. Plus it's nothing like real manual shifting.

haha. It definitely doesn't replace a clutch and a shifter, but it's still nice to be able to choose your gears. **prior e92 335i 6mt owner
