Default How to fix scrapes and scratches and How much?? Help!!

My car was neatly parked in a parking lot and when I came out to get my car, I found this huge scrape and scratches on the driver's side, passenger door. I was very angry at whoever did this because there is no way unless you are a stupid driver, that you will be able to hit my car because I parked right in the center of the parking space. Didn't leave a note or anything.

The scrapes and scratches does not seem too deep but the area is a bit large. I tried the Meguire's 2.0 but it didn't seem to work. Do you guys have any idea what product I should use for this type of damage?

Also, if I let Lexus dealership fix it, do you guys have any idea of how much they charge (estimate)?

Thanks! I am really frustrated Fyi. my car is IS250F Atomic Silver.

You want to avoid painting if possible, which I would expect to run in the $500-700 range.

Try to take it to a high-end auto detailer and see if they can buff it out first.

There are also products like drcolorchiprepair.com, but I don't know how or if it works on scratches.

How come one would avoid painting? Lowers value of car?

As the previous post said, you open the door to paint match problems which may become more evident as the car ages and fades. Tape lines, and the fact that the replacement paint is never as good as the factory paint. Plus at least for a short time afterward your car interior smells like paint shop.

Ouch that sucks. I agree, definitely look around and see if it could be buffed/polished out first before going to the get things repainted.

It doesn't look too deep.

Thanks guys! Appreciate your response.I just got an estimate of $40 from an auto detailing shop. They said they would need to sand it and then buff/polish it. They said it can be removed without the need of a paint job. $40 is a great deal! I just hope it will be a success.

Thanks! yup! don't want a paint job, aside from the fact that it is very expensive, the color of my car I think is very rare (atomic silver) and maybe an auto shop would need to order the paint before they can proceed with the paint.

Looks like you can polish that out with an orbital and some Meguiars.

Scratches and scrapes no more! The auto detail shop did an amazing job for $40!. No more scrapes and scratches on my car as if it never existed! I'm so happy today! Also, I have reached the 5K miles today so I also got the complimentary oil change. It was a wonderful 5K mark.

Thanks! Why? It is set to every 5K. Is it supposed to be every 7K? good thing it's complimentary. Lol!

You're supposed to service it every 5k but the oil only gets changed every 10k, unless I misunderstand something.
