Default How much do you guys spend on Gas? IS250 vs IS350

I'm looking for a Lexus as my next car. I'm assuming you guys use premium gas.

1) I'm curious how much people here spend gas each week on the IS 250 vs IS350.

2) how many miles does the IS 250 vs the IS 350 hold before the gas tank goes to empty?

3) Does F-sport use more gas?

IS350 F Sport

1) Full tank every 1-1.5 weeks. Sport+ aggressive driver.
2) About ~250 miles
3) Same engine, so theoretically, no it shouldn't use more gas than non F Sport.

First off, the IS requires premium (per the manual). The MPG difference isn't huge between the 2 models. I have the IS250 F-Sport AWD and it fills up with $40-$45. It lasts me a full week, given that I work 5-6 days of the week and go to school. My daily commute is about 13 miles roundtrip each day. So, 13 x 6 = 78 miles. Another factor to consider when comparing MPG is your own foot If you're heavy on it, then your gas tank will pay for it!

Your gas tank gives you only 78 miles? I can do 300 before the yellow light comes on

Lol. I know that was coming. I forgot to add school mileage, shopping, trips to grocery store, etc.

You would think the 250 being 100+ HP less it would get a lot better mileage than it does. If you are performance orientated at all get the 350. You might be only talking 2 MPG difference overall .
between the two cars. I was getting around 330 miles on a tank in the summer and around 285 in the winter with an AWD 350 F Sport.. F Sport does not use any more gas unless you want it too with harder driving.

IS350 RWD

This is from the Fuelly app which I tracked only 1.9k miles of my 3.4k total miles so far. I also live in the Bay Area so gas prices are pretty high. I don't think I have a lead foot but maybe once per tank I go 85% WOT.

Thanks for the reply guys. I thought it would cost about $60 to fill up each week @ about ($3 per gallon for premium gas). I have a 1991 Toyota Corolla right now and I fill up about ($25 @ $3.50 per gallon). My car can go up to 300 miles before it's completely empty. When I fill up, I fill up at around 280 miles. I never used premium gas before, so I'm kind of thinking ahead of how much gas money I need to pay each week for an IS250/350. So most people here average about $45 per week. That's actually pretty good for premium gas (91). My dad's 2007 Camry fills up at about ($45 @ $3.50 per gallon) each week and he is using 89. So at $3.50, it might cost about $55 to fill up for the IS250/350 here...

Cool app @ chyeea03

It could be cheaper. I use to have a Sonata and used regular. It would fill up for 40ish in Texas. My Sonata was a v4 but with the IS, the gas is cheaper for me and last about the same. The tank is smaller I believe. But gas is cheaper in Texas.

OP, for 1) and 2), these depend on how the IS is used. A 350 can have better MPGs than a 250 if the miles are more highway driven because their differences are minimal. Like-for-like (same commute, same environment, same AWD vs AWD, same RWD vs RWD), the 250 will save you about 10-12%. Both 250 and 350 have the same tank size so mileage will depend on the owner's current tank average., but typically for me, about 300 miles.

On my 250 AWD F Sport, Warmer months, 75% city/25% hwy, 22.5 MPG. Colder winter months, that drops to about 20 MPGs. My city commute is not heavily congested, but if traffic were a problem, my MPGs could easily be in the mid-teens.

3) No, F Sport does NOT use more gas as the non-F Sport equivalent models have the same transmission and engine (including programmings). Even the exclusive S+ mode on the 350 F Sport is simply an additional driving mode to tighten up the AVS (suspension), but tranny/programming is the same.

I'm driving a 350F Sport AWD in a winter climate. In the winter I was consistently getting about 450km/tank (280 miles) and in the summer I get about 490km/tank (~300 miles). I drive somewhat aggressively and have been able to bring my L/KM down by about 3.0 to about 10L/100KM by going easier on the gas. None of this is Eco mode. My tank costs me between $65-70 CAD every 10 days or so
