Default Do our cars support two "sets" of TPMS ids?

Asking because would like to know when I buy a second set of rims and tires if the tire shop should "clone" the original sensor ID's or if these cars can support a second set of ID's for a second set of tires. I've read that some lexus models don't support the second set feature while others do.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well..I didn't even know there were some models that supported two sets.

however, that means you're gonna buy another set of sensors? they're probably expensive due to the new model (unless the sensors have been the same for years) in which case you can get some used ones for a decent price off ebay.

another set of sensors are expensive, yes, but i don't want to have to swap TPMS sensors every time i switch sets.

Nope, unlike 2IS the 3IS doesn't support two sets. The service computer used by dealer can only overwrite the numbers of four sensors and can not store more sets.

tire place i go to said they would sell me blank TPMS sensors, which would then clone the ID of the ones already on my vehicle. is this the best way to proceed? That way I would just have to reset hte TPMS in my car every time i swap, right? no way in hell am i paying Lexus/Toyota $100 every time i want to swap sets!
