This is an interesting thread on how the 3IS behaves with long-pressing the traction control button vs the pedal dance. For reference, this is how the 2IS and IS-F behave when utilizing the TRAC button or pedal dance:

2IS350-
*Press TRAC button: Traction Control turns off (reactivates at 36 mph); Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and eLSD are active and unaffected.
*Hold TRAC button for 3-5 seconds: Traction Control, VSC, and eLSD are fully disabled (2006 IS350 requires pedal dance for this function).
*Pedal Dance: Same as holding TRAC button for 3-5 seconds. 2006 IS350 requires this method to fully disable nannies.

IS-F-
**Press TRAC button: Traction Control turns off (reactivates at 36 mph); Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and LSD are active and unaffected.
**Hold TRAC button for 3-5 seconds: Traction Control and VSC are fully disabled. eLSD remains active for the 08-09 MY.
**Pedal Dance: Traction Control, VSC, and eLSD are fully disabled (for 08-09 MY as 10+ MY are Torsen LSD equipped).

I agree that a LSD makes a world of difference. I haven't done any donuts on my IS350 but I may have left my mark around town with a few two-wheel burnouts
