Unhappy Broken headlight tab = No warranty?

Hi,

Recently I noticed my driver side headlight had moisture trapped in the lens. Thinking I had a defective headlight with a bad seal. I knew it would be under warranty so I brought it to Lexus to have it checked out. They could not replace the headlight under warranty, because it was physically damaged? The lens are perfect. They showed me that a tab was broken.. How can this be? I've never touched/played with the headlight ever. Just because of this tab, $2000 for a brand new headlight ?! YEAH RIGHT. I also checked the passenger side headlight. The tab is also broken! But no moisture problem. I've never hit my bumper on anything. I've never touched the headlight housing nor moved the headlight. Is it because I'm on RSR Super Down springs and my bumper sometimes scraps? The actual bumper hasn't scraped, only the wind deflectors on the bottom.

Is this a common problem? I've seen a few headlights on eBay with the same broken tab. Any idea on how this happened? I'm really confused and no way am I replacing the whole headlight for a plastic tab. The tab is screwed into the fender BTW and is completely separated from the housing.. Now there's a hole from where the tab was. Just because of this broken tab, no warranty!

^^ The tab on the very top is the broken tab. (Not my headlight, Picture from eBay)
