i don't think those are brake covers.. i think they're actual brakes painted red with the f sport decal over it.. one of the 3IS members on the forum did exactly that.

If you have an IS250 you can upgrade to IS350 brakes for less than 500 bucks. Paint them before you put them on and you are good to go.

there's a DIY out there i think.. from what i recall, most members did about 3 coats, and the most important thing is to do a wide spread, not concentrated and also give it enough time to cure and dry.. don't rush it..

Are the brake sizes for the rear the same between the IS250 and IS350? Also, you would need to buy bigger rotors correct?

i want to say the 350 and 250 rears are the same though i could be wrong, go to MyLParts.com and compare the rears. also, yes, since you're upgrading to the 350 larger calipers you would need to get the front rotors. expect a front oem set to cost around 300-320.

yeah there is a specific brake paint which can help withstand the heat and road debris. i would go to your local auto parts store to look for it.

To get a full IS350 front brake setup (which is all you need) you would go to rock auto and get...

p/n 193337 - left caliper - $130
p/n 193336 - right caliper - $130
p/n 980918 - left rotor - premium - $69
p/n 980917 - right rotor - premium - $69

and either

p/n 30911180 - stoptech street performance pads -pair $42 for best performance
or
p/n ACT1118 - Akebono Ceramic pads - pair $48 for low dust - less performance

Total price is about $450
