Default delaying service past recommended

I have a 15k service soon, it's scheduled at 14.1k. However, I would like to do it at 14.8 or 14.9k, would that be a problem since I'm not doing an oil change? The reason I want to delay a bit is that my dealer is pretty far, but at least this one is a freebie for me as they screwed up my plates when I originally bought the car from them.

A additional month or 1000 miles or so isn't going to do any harm. The required maintenance intervals are not 100% set in stone. I've gone easily 2000 to 3000 km over the recommended interval simply because life got busy. Considering the wide range of opinions on oil change frequency and even differing Lexus intervals in different regions, it's not going to be a significant issue.

In your case of a few hundred miles, I wouldn't sweat it one bit.

As you said, there isn't even an oil change at the 15k mile service, so I would agree, delaying this service won't be an issue.

What is required at 15k? heck, you might be able to do the things yourself.

Absolutely correct, these are easy things to do on your own. I consider the 15k service to be fluff with coffee and cookies. From the manual:

❏ Inspect and adjust all fluid levels
❏ Replace Smart Key battery
❏ Reset maintenance reminder light
❏ Rotate tires
❏ Visually inspect brake pads, calipers and rotors
❏ Check installation of driver’s floor mat
❏ Road-test vehicle
❏ Inspect the following:
___Axle shaft boots
___Ball joints and dust covers
___Body
___Brake lines and hoses
___Engine coolant (see page 69)
